Army Player Pos Status Date Injury

Army's offensive line got very beat up during the off season, so much so that at one point it looked like four linemen might miss the game. Fortunately for Army it looks like three of those four players are now listed as probable for this weeks contest.

They are also feeling better about Raymond Maples who is one of their big weapons in the backfield.
Steve Shumaker OL Upgraded to probable 9/5/2014 Hamstring
This would be a big one for Army to have. Shumaker Has appeared in 26 career games and 23 of those are starts. Last season he was named to the Phil Steele 2013 Postseason All-Independent second team and selected to the 2013 FBS All-Indepdent Team as an honorable mention offensive lineman.
Hayden Pierce DB Upgraded to probable 9/4/2014 Undisclosed
Price is a Senior DB who Appeared in 11 games, starting 8 of them last season. On the year Price hadf 42 tackles of which 22 were solo efforts. His best game last year came against BC where he had eight tackles, 5 solo.
Raymond Maples RB Upgraded to probable 9/4/2014 Undisclosed
Maples is one of the best Army has ever had. He is coming off his second consecutive 1,000 yard season, just the 3rd Army back to ever do that. He ranks sixth on Army's all-time rushing list with 2,489 yards(2281 in the past two years) and has 10 career 100-yard rushing games
Jaryn Villegas OL Probable 9/3/2014 Undisclosed
A true freshman who might factor in the game if there are depth issues on the line.
Stefan Moreau OL Probable 9/3/2014 Undisclosed
A sophomore who saw no action last season. He is slated to start at right guard.
A.J. Schurr QB Probable 8/31/2014 Hamstring
He Army's backup but was last years starter versus Navy.
Justin Gilbert OL Out for season 8/15/2014 Knee
Gilbert was a starter last season and would have started this year had he not blown out his knee in the preseason.

UB Player Pos Status Date Injury

Buffalo lost face against the Dukes but the team did come out of the game unscathed.

The only known issue is an illness that Marqus Baker has been battling. That means Dwellie Striggles probably gets the start this week.
Marqus Baker DB Out 9/2/2014 Illness
Baker Played in all 13 games last season and with the loss of defensive backs he was going to be a starter this year. In 2013 he finished off the season with 16 tackles (10 solo) to go along with one interception against Western Michigan.

Rivals Planned Outage - What's Going to Happen and Why

Hey everyone.

Lots going on behind the scenes technology-wise, and this week is no exception though we are focused this week on stability.

With that being said, please note that Rivals has a planned outage during the overnight this Thursday ~ Friday.

Start: 11 p.m. PT on Thursday 8/21
Anticipated End: 3 a.m. PT on Friday 8/22

Here are three very specific notes as to what and why:Move Rivals.com to the latest & fastest server hardware available to Yahoo global propertiesMove Rivals database servers to a newer and more stable operating systemsClean up some unused parts of our system so we can solve future issues quickly (or much quicker than currently)

Trust me, the down time will pay benefits in the long run.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Eric Winters of Rivals.com @

Hungry

I thought I would never see this day with this team. As HC spoke on in one of his most recent videos "HUNGRY" that's what I saw today coming from these players. Seeing them engaged, with a passion and a mission. The staff was even more exciting out there. Yes it was a few missed assignments, here and there. But the energy from the players putting into one another to correct the mistakes, been a long time coming. Seeing leadership engaging more with the younger guys was great. Also let me speak about the conditioning staff, working with the guys who had the red shirts on.. I never seen these guys ever do before. They was on the sidelines working out the parts of their bodies that wasn't hurt. No more just standing around looking. Man I was gased up at every section of that field today as to what was taking place... If they don't win more games this season my name ain't bulletproof

GBK VIDEO INTERVIEW: CB JOSH JENKINS

When it comes to the CB position, QB is probably only one other position on the field that is more demanding and presents more exposure. GBK caught up with Soph. CB, Josh Jenkins.

And if you are not a subscriber to GBK, NOW IS THE TIME!

GBK VIDEO: MEDIA DAY WITH HEAD COACH JEFF MONKEN

The Wish List

The NCAA have giving the ruling on student athletes today. Which help the athletes during there 4yrs while their earning their degree, they want them to get payed. However the smaller colleges can't afford it. But they have 60 days to say yah or nah...
But of course Northwestern players want more, they want a piece of the tv revenue. Hmm this will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

Michael Sam

Was picked by the Rams... OK that's nice and all.. But what the hell was that display of affection him and his partner did... OK they was in their own house or whatever. But the cake kissing like they just got married was horrible. And confused that they didn't cut that off quick. I get the fact he is who he is, but to go as far as he did tonight, makes me believe his going to far to prove a point. The Show was uncalled for...

Getting Bigger

It's a good read from beginning to end but these two paragraphs really caught my eye:
First-year coach Jeff Monken said his sophomores, juniors and seniors have added a combined 1,440 pounds of muscle since he took over the program on Jan. 8. A high percentage of the gains have come this summer.

"It's an average of 14.69 pounds per player," Monken said. "It (moving up military training) has made all the difference in the world."
When was the last time our returning players came to camp nearly 15 lbs heavier (on average) compared to the end of the previous season? Nice to see the team finally getting the institutional support it deserves.

Army football team is bigger, tougher
