Looking for Old Book on Army Football

Folks,

Trying to do some football research, and someone pointed out a book, published in 1954, called "Black Knights of West Point," written by James Edson.

A few pages I saw showed descriptions of each game played during the 1914 season, including who played on both teams. A summary of the book says it covers Army football games from the 1890 through 1953 seasons.

The book is out of print, the nearest library having it is a five hour drive, and a major university. Last sold on Ebay or Amazon in 2009.

If someone has a copy that they would be interested in selling or letting me borrow for a month, just reply here about your interest.

GBK Recruiting Update: Come inside to see what is unfolding

There is tons of recruiting activity and of course, GBK will have you right in the middle of it all.

For you recruiting fans, it is our recommendation that you check the offer list on a regular basis, because it is changing throughout the day.

Of course, we will bring you the in-depth one-on-one with each recruit, as we have several articles in queue even as I type, so stay tuned for that.

Also look for an video update on Rivals 3-star LB, Dallas Jeanty, who will be participating in this weekend's RCS in Miami (Fl.).

2016 Army Offer List

DL

Wow! Slim pickings!! Glover was a two year starter and they haven't groomed a replacement beyond Atimalala?

McLean looks promising but is a plebe.....why wasn't one of the bigger OL put in the void last year? I know the OL was in flux also.

They have 15 on the roster......

Our ILBs will be stymied if we cant draw double teams at Nose....and the inside run game will get us.

Camps and Early Offers-Paying Dividends

I'm really pleased at Coach Moncken's approach to camps and early offers. Our previous coach refused to run camps until his last year, and wouldn't let coaches extend offers until "I've seen senior tape". We know already of players who committed this year from last year's camps. I'm guessing these 2016 early offers will also bear some fruit. Very positive development on the recruiting front. In fact, I like everything this staff is doing in recruiting.

Insightful and right on 2015 road schedule article

We have to at least win 3 of the 5 games on the road in order to have a successful season. UConn will be looking for revenge, but I think we can take them down, as well as Eastern Michigan. Not feeling happy about playing PSU in Happy Valley, so I count this as our first away defeat. Rice will be tough, so that's a toss up and believe it or not, I like our chances against AF.

Army versus Syracuse in Lacrosse

Watched the game on ESPN3. Syracuse looked like the better team but Army acquitted themselves well. As the article notes, Army lost 21 of the 25 face-offs, and it's tough to win when you're giving up the ball that often. Glessener and Johnson looked good. Daily is usually very good in the face-off; so I don't know why Syracuse dominated that aspect of the game.
