POLL: Should Army sell beer at Michie Stadium during football games?

This was an article on one of the other Rival sites, so I thought I would steal some of their thunder and put it in poll form here.

For years, alcohol at university stadiums seemed like an almost taboo issue. Surely alcohol shouldn't be sold on a college campus, where the word tailgate essentially means chug as much beer and liquor as you can before kickoff, and then sneak some airplane bottles into the stadium. However, things could be changing as schools look to create new revenue streams.

Hello everyone!

Hello Black Knights, I hope you all don't mind me posting and following the program, my nephew is a member of the 2014 recruiting class, (EJ Turner), I pray he makes it and look forward to keeping up with Black Knight football. Thanks. If there are any insiders that can give me any updates on him when the time comes I would appreciate it, thanks again.

Recruiting Questions

Hello Army fans. I have several football recruiting questions pertaining to West Point (and perhaps the other military academies) that you may be able to answer for me.

- If a player is recruited to West Point and commits to going, does he follow the same application process that all other students applying to West Point follow? I don't know a lot about the application process to West Point, so perhaps there may be different "paths" for all applicants, and maybe a football recruit path is not unusual. I'm just curious if a football recruit is "helped along" in the process for gaining admission.

- This question is probably just another way of stating the prior question. I'm a Notre Dame fan, and follow ND recruiting closely. While ND has higher standards for football recruits than many other FBS schools, many of the recruits would not make it into ND if they went through the normal application process. Are there football recruits that make it into West Point that would not be at West Point if they had to apply like everyone else?

- Since all the cadets at West Point are receiving a free education, is there a special designation for football players? That is, how does the NCAA 85 scholarship limit apply? Or does it even apply to the football roster?

- Every FBS college program has walk-ons. Since every West Point cadet is on scholarship, the distinction between a walk-on vs scholarship player at other schools doesn't seem to apply. Or does it? What is the walk-on program like at West Point? Is there a different perception held of those cadets that were specifically recruited to play football between those that walked-on?

- Is recruiting handled similarly at the Air Force and Navy Academies? If not, what are the differences?

Thanks for any responses you can provide! My son just started researching the process for applying to West Point. While he probably will not be good enough to play football at West Point, some of these questions popped into my mind as we have been discussing the application process.

Expanded schedule for USMAPS?

It appears that USMAPS will be playing an 11 game schedule this year including two games against the Army JV and a game against AFA Prep.

To the best of my knowledge, USMAPS has played a 7 or 8 game schedule in recent years, so this is a significant increase in the number of games, and I don't recall them ever playing AFA prep before. They have played the JV team regularly in past years, but this year they're scheduling a second game at the end of the season, which should up the bragging rights.

Powis!?

Any more insight on why he left?

Although he was a bit small, that kid was an outstanding center and one of the best players we had the last few years.

I saw a bigger difference in the offense when he was out than Maples (and I'm a big fan of Maples)...

Hassin leaving the team was a big deal, but despite his awesome Soph campaign, I think he had already been eclipsed by Larry when he left - and I think he knew it. This to me is an even bigger deal...

Doesn't seem to be much discussion about it on here though, so maybe my analysis is off?
