2015 Army Football strength of schedule

Several of us have pointed out that this year's schedule is a challenging one with four Power 5 opponents. I'd like to counter that by referring to the consensus Top 128 FBS ratings for this year. Phil Steele posted a composite of six complete 128 FBS school rankings (not his own list) which are out already. I won't link to it here but you can find it easily if you want to view it. Here are the teams in the order we play them:

NR Fordam (FCS)
109 UConn
85 Wake Forest
128 Eastern Michigan
39 Penn State
48 Duke
NR Bucknell (FCS)
93 Rice
87 Air Force
98 Tulane
76 Rutgers
62 Navy

The average rating for FBS teams we face is 82.5. Add in the two FCS teams and you cannot arguably say that our 2015 schedule is a difficult schedule compared to typical FBS teams. What can make it challenging is that the consensus ranking for Army is 121. Hopefully the coaching staff can make up for what everyone else seems to seems to be the lack of depth and experience on our roster.

I also think this list gives us some hope that we can win more games than last year if the new roster plays well and we get lucky with few key injuries.

Can we get pass this

This week we have learned a very serious incident that accured with our players..... Let me be the first to say "I FEEL EVERYONE" But we are going to get pass this, and think about the bright future of this team... Yes it's a lot to digest and even think of when it comes to the performance of the team... I for one hoping that this dont cause any friction with the players, and we as fans will continue to support them as they deal with this differcult time.... We have a huge season infront of us, that we all know is going to take all of them pulling together. It starts with us the fan base, to be sensitive to the nature at hand. Monken and staff have been trying extremely hard, to put together a program that will be helpful not hurtful to our guys. Game day is fastly approaching, and if nothing else less try to shift gears here to support that, let the investagation take care of itself!!!!! With that being said:::::: LET'S GO ARMY #teamjenkins#3

Star CB, Josh Jenkins’ with GBK Reporter Maddy Daugherty

As many of you know and some even debated on The 12th Knight message board our decision to hold off putting this story out on our own almost over a week ago for various reasons, and at this time we have decided to utilize the update from the West Point Public Affairs Office, but this thread is now open for discussion in what is a VERY serious incident within the program.

There is much that we already know, but we are going to be very careful in what we share, what we say and how we say anything. That conversation will be taking place on this thread on The 12th Knight (Click Here).

We can effectively argue that the lose of Josh Jenkins is not only a huge hit defensively, but across the spectrum of this year’s team.

Was Moreau the Shoe (boot) to drop?

Today, 13 July, Sal Interdonato posted that OL and cow Stefan Moreau was no longer listed on Army's online roster and no word whether he was still attending the academy. Was that the "boot" we've been waiting to drop as first reported by CG "GKB Update!!", Jul 5? Although I'm very sorry to see Moreau is no longer on the team, I'm more concerned for his future and I hope he's in a good place mentally and is coping, and I wish him well, and my best thoughts go with the young man. And if his loss is what GBK had alluded to then so be it, and I trust the coaches will make the necessary adjustments. (Army's coaching staff collectively is the right fit for Army West Point football at this point in time, given performance factors that have preceded them--IMO). Go Army!

GBK: Thanks & Welcome

Over the past 2 1/2 weeks, we have seen a tremendous spike in subscribers to GoBlackKnights.com.

Actually, the highest total ever in such a short period of time ... over 80 new subs, which is awesome. Needless to say, we are excited and we hope that many if not all will become active participants on our message boards, especially The 12th Knight.

Speaking of active participants. On behalf of GBK, I would personally like to thank each and everyone of you for your loyalty and support to GBK and it doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or an oldie.

I would like to think that our commitment to bringing you inside Army football like no other online venue is part of the reason that we have seen the recent aforementioned spike, but it is also you the fans here who make the message boards alive and kicking and a place where folks can talk Army West Point football, college football/sports and other associated sports related events ... even though at times the fan base may agree to disagree (respectfully of course).

Anyway, I just thought I would share that with the board this morning and enjoy the balance of your day and keep getting the word out about GoBlackKnights.com!
