Decidedly better stats but a weaker schedule as well. Have confidence in team and look forward to seeing them play well as the competition gets stiffer in back half.

Great game by Cole Macek & Ahmad Bradshaw

We will never confuse Bradshaw’s throwing ability with that of Tom Brady, but he is an effective passer when called upon and he has done that for the entire season minus the Duke game (horrible weather). Just go back and look at the tapes of each game.

Also, hats off to Macek who stepped in for Davidson and showed that we have a 3-headed sophomore class of fullbacks. Love it.

COVER-IT-LIVE: Army Black Knights vs. Lafayette Leopards

Game Location: West Point (NY)

Game Time: Saturday (10/15) @ 12:00pm EST

TV: CBS Sports Network

As you know, especially for those of you Army fans who have been regulars on GoBlackKnights.com for some time now, it is our custom to run our Cover-It-Live Chat during each and every Army ball game.

However, this Saturday game, we will not have the actual Cover-It-Live up and running (and we extend our apologies).

But what we will have up and running will be this GBK Army-Lafayette Game Day Thread, whereby you can chime as you see fit and A.M. Allan will still be on board to peak in on the message board chatter, but no official moderation.

I hope everyone will join in and add your voice to the CHAT as well. See you here at 12:00pm EST (10/15).

NOTABLE: Look for the Army defense to start the same eleven, but also look for James Gibson, Jordan Smith and Jaylon McClinton to receive plenty of reps as well. On offense, back-up fullback Darnell Woolfolk is doubtful for Saturday’s contest.

The Inside Stuff Man's Best Friend: Thanks Major!

When Gordon Larson joined GoBlackKnights.com, he immediately added solid analysis, true insight and obvious professionalism to this site. But what he also has brought to GBK is a true passion for Army football, but remaining completely objective.

However, if you know Gordon then that means you also know Major and I had the privilege to meeting him a couple years back at the Army-Navy game where he sat quietly in the press box as GBK covered the annual academy rivalry.

Yes, Major has been as the phrase goes ... ‘Man’s Best Friend’ (aka ... Gordon's service dog) as he and Gordon traveled together and he was a true companion.

Gordon and Major’s, who was only 6-years old .... attended their last Army football game together in Durham, North Carolina where our Senior Writer covered Saturday’s contest between the Black Knights and the Blue Devils.

“He was a big fan of Army football, especially when he got treats for Army scores,” shared Gordon. “I taught him to do a high five when we scored, and he watched a lot of games with me.”
