Hey Charles and GBK, great interview with Tim Caron. He obviously has great pedigree coming from USC and GT. Here are some questions I am hoping to get answers to in Part 2:
1) What can you do to overcome the stress and strain that our players bodies go through in summer military training, especially the new cadets in beast? What can be done to counteract the weight loss that seems to happen across the board?
2) We are at a size disadvantage against nearly everyone on our schedule. What is being done to close that gap, especially in the "trenches?"
3) What new technologies are we taking advantage of that other big time programs are using (hyperbaric chambers; recovery equipment/sleep technology to reduce swelling and circulation and improve recovery times; legal NCAA approved supplementation; prescribed diet for our players based on their individual needs and goals of the program)?
4) What steps are we taking to counteract the stress put on our players bodies and their ability to recover from their heavier than normal class load and additional cadet duties? The stresses our players have to deal with in daily cadet life makes their recovery more challenging than a college athlete at "Hucklebuck Tech." What technologies and additional steps are we putting in place to put our players at an advantage vs. their competition instead of a disadvantage?
- 3 and 4 are kind of similar so I apologize for any redundance. I know you may not have time to cover all this with Coach Caron, but they are valid questions nonetheless. In case you couldn't tell, I am kind of passionate about this aspect of a program
