Polynesian Punch +1

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that OL Eathan Palelei and Radson Jang will be signing today as I have seen their game film and I know that they will fit into coach Monten's offensive scheme of B-back/QB option football (not T-option, really). I have especially been impressed with the solid line play of Jang who I heard about two years ago as he played for my high school (Kamehameha in Hawaii) and is hopefully joining my second alma mater, West Point. He is quick, pulls exceptionally well, and will stay with his block until he flattens his quarry, sometimes 20 yards downfield! These two, when added to another Polynesian OL Jaryn Villegas from Hawaii will constitute the "Polynesian Punch" and with Bryce Holland (outstanding OL) will constitute the team that will make coach Monken's QB/B-back scheme work and will make the coach look like he knew what he was doing all along (moving away from the T-option). So, in conclusion, I think the "Polynesian Punch +1" (Holland) will be the nucleus of Army football for the next 3 years under coach Monken.

GBK: National Signing Day 2015

It's almost showtime, which means National Signing Day 2015 … just days away (Feb. 4th).

And when National Signing Day 2015 is underway, GoBlackKnights.com will be your source and have you right in the middle of it all when it comes to what has and is unfolding for Army's incoming recruiting class.

We will provide up-to-date content throughout NSD, but we have so much more in store for you, so stay tuned as we get closer to the BIGGEST recruiting day of the year.

Recruiting Wars

Looks like in the last 24 hrs we lost OT Bo Alexander to App St. and CB Dominieke Jones to AFA. You have to expect losses in this business. But we had wins with OL Ethan Palelei (who now shows as an Army commit) and FB Drue Harris - both of whom seemed to have offers from other academies.

I would love to see an article or analyses of the remaining fence sitters and where they might end up. And also some informed speculation about who some other surprise commits might be that have not been mentioned up to this point either by name or position.

GBK: RB Donovan Franklin Update

Franklin was scheduled to take his official visit to Army on 2/6, but because of a conflict in his schedule, he made his way up on Thursday for an unofficial. During the conclusion of his visit, he verbally committed to become a Black Knight.

Of course, we will have more on Franklin's pledge later today, along with that "NJ" prospect who will be on campus today, as we will follow up to announce his commitment as well.

GBK: Another big recruiting weekend (official visits)

As you can imagine, it's crunch time and there will be plenty to report this weekend, as both recruits and coaches get ready to put the final touches on the 2015 recruiting class (for the most part).

We know at least two prospects who will be verbally committing this weekend and we bring that to you, soon after they give their pledge to the staff … so stay tune.

Also look for our "Parent's Perspective" article on one of Army's top commits from this year's recruiting class. That will be up at 5pm EST.

Plus there is much more to come, as we continue to look at the current group of players on the roster and the impact they need to have in order for Army to have a successful 2015 campaign. That is our "Breakout" updates.

Of course the BIGGIE is our National Signing Day coverage and all the info surrounding our coverage will be up on the front page this weekend.
