Other Army Sports - Which ones do you follow?

For most people there are four seasons each year - spring, summer, winter and fall. For me, it's more like college football season and college football off-season. That said, I do follow other sports at the college level too. Other posters have often mentioned non-football sports at West Point in which they have a strong interest. That got me thinking... it would be interesting to see which other Army sports this group follows.

Please rank your top five Army sports, in order of interest to you. Criteria is the level of your personal interest. Not success, not importance to the school, not history. Your personal interest. Here are mine:

1) Football (duh)
2) Hockey (love that domination over Air Force his weekend!)
3) Men's Lacrosse
4) Men's Basketball
5) Wrestling

One more plug for Army Hockey... for those not paying attention, we are having a really good season and have a good chance to be the top seed in the Atlantic Hockey tournament this year.

OT: Concussion "Science" Distorion

Finally some CTE illumination from MSM. The concussion thing has been overblown from the beginning. Original "researchers" used very small and flawed studies that were pimped-out to media and not fellow researchers. That was a first sign of an agenda. Scary "tau" proteins were tied to football without mentioning, drug and alcohol abuse (as well as diabetes and Alzheimer's) were linked to same protein. Seau's suicide after career was linked to football and not his years of drug and alcohol abuse. Sports medicine societies didn't agree with assessments that media promoted anyway. Degrees of concussion were abolished so that every little bump became a concussion. Many people (including Francesca) took the concussion movie too seriously. CTE became the global warming of sports

Football Recruiting GBK Recruiting Update: Black Knights' coaches hit the recruiting trail

The Army staff is on the road the next two weeks, as they attempt to pull in the final pieces to the 2020 recruiting class.

The prospects fall into various categories. Some have already committed, but as you know with the Army commits, they are not bound by a Letter of Intent as it is with all non-academy programs across the nation, so hence they remain open targets.

For example cornerback Dominic Morris, who committed to the Black Knights back in June. However, he opened is recruiting back up towards the end of the season. It it down to Army and Air Force, who he visited a couple of weeks ago. The prospect out of Texas will be receiving an in-home visit from cornerback coach, Daryl Dixon and we will have more on the visit in separate coverage.

Another category is one that several recruits currently fall under and those are prospects who have taken their official visit to West Point over the past two weekends and remain uncommitted. One such player is Sean Guyton, who will receive a in-home visit from safety coach, Josh Christian-Young and we will have more later.

Then we have 3rd category is the prospect who will be visiting (official) this upcoming weekend, but has yet to commit anywhere, but is a hot target for the staff. One such player is Princeton Malbrue. The linebacker will be receiving an in-home visit this evening from fullback coach, Mike Viti. Stay-tuned.

Then on the other side of the ball you have Rivals 2-Star WR Brandon Jones, who committed to the Black Knights back in August. This evening, the product of Virginia Beach, Virginia received an in-home visit from Wide Receiver Coach, Keith Gaither.

Rivals 3-star OL, Nicholas Hilliard is one prospects the Army staff is truly hoping will say yes to wearing the Black & Gold of the Black Knights. Coming off of his OV at West Point this past weekend, the talented O-lineman appeared to really enjoy his time. Fullback Coach, Mike Viti was at Hilliard's yesterday evening to take in the lineman's basketball. More to follow on GBK, so stay tuned.

Keep it right here as we will continue add to the list of prospects who are receiving in-home or school visits, especially those who are uncommitted.

Think about this for a moment

Since taking over the program, Monken has assembled some pretty damn good coaches. How so, well just look at our record since he came on board but equally as obvious is the coaches that have left or recycled through the college ranks after leaving here and where they ended up.

Schools such as UNC, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Nebraska and I am sure I am missing a few.
