What say ye the fans?

After our victory over UTEP, USA Today Sagarin has us ranked at #51 (74.94 rating)! We’re now ranked higher than the Mids @ 61 (71.49 rating); Duke @ 68 (69.50); Air Force @ 69 (69.25); and Wake Forest @ 73 (68.15). Home team (I think) gets an extra 3 points to the rating number. That makes us about a 22 point favorite next week at Buffalo. Interestingly enough, we’d be a 10 point underdog @ South Bend if we were playing the Irish this week. Still early in the season – but great to see!

I read that Darnell Woolfolk was named player of the game vs UTEP. With all due respect to Cadet Woolfolk I would say that the entire offensive line, including subs, were the players of the game. Those Cadets simply dominated the UTEP front. They had them gassed and befuddled by the third quarter. I'm guessing that many of them will be wearing Ranger jerseys this week in practice!

St. Hilaire scored his first Army touchdown yesterday. Here's a guy who came in as a 3-star prospect, never truly saw the field, but has been patient and worked hard and didn't become overly discourage although I am sure there are times he wanted to give up.

Yes, players play and coaches coach. But to be honest, we often talk about the performance or lack thereof of the players. In this case, let's give credit where it is due. Our coaches, lead by Monken's game plan and the execution of that plan by our OC, Brent Davis and DC, Jay Bateman were outstanding.

So, let me give them "Two Claps"

I don't even know how to pick this one, because the emotional factor involved with the loss of Brandon; road game in Texas although we did win on the road in Philly, but that's just around the corner to be honest with you. We talk about the players response to the tragic situation, what about the coaches? Monken even said in his presser yesterday, is that he has never been through anything like this before and at the time in which it happen.

Then factor in that UTEP is a high powered offense and put up good numbers versus Texas last week.

I hope that I am wrong, but I don't see us winning our 3rd straight.

As you know, especially for those of you Army fans who have been regulars on GoBlackKnights.com for some time now, it is our custom to run our Cover-It-Live Chat during each and every Army ball game.

However, this Saturday game, we will not have it up and running (it’s a long story ... and our apologies).

But what we will have up and running will be this GBK Army-UTEP Game Day Thread, whereby you can chime as you see fit and A.M. Allan will still be on board to peak in on the message board chatter but no official moderation.
