What impact will the new early signing period have on the Service Academies if 50+% of the players choose to early commit?
Some fans will say that it doesn't impact us, we don't have the same rules, etc. But, would we be wise to begin looking at the application process for recruited athletes as far as the qualification requirement time frame. Should approvals of a players medical exam, physical aptitude test, and education (College Board scores) qualifications be "moved up" in date/time to perhaps, January of their Junior year of HS or earlier? Should a "conditional appointment" be "signed" once the individual qualifies in all these areas, with the understanding that they still must qualify prior to R-day?".
