Regarding Army Football: Transfer Portal/NIL Recommendations

This past week we have witnessed two of our key defensive players (Elo Modozie & Donavon Platt) add their names to the transfer portal. As noted in another thread, Elo just committed to the Georgia Bulldogs of the SEC. And if we go back a little further (aka right after the Navy game), star RB Kanyne Udoh puts his name in the portal and eventually commits to Arizona State.

If this continues and it will, our program will be like the G-League for the NBA, where guys go to play to develop their skills with the hope of making it to "The League". The vibe that I believe is manifesting itself within our program and you have to know that players who will be in a position next year to jump into the portal, will - no matter what their reasons are and/or if you and I disagree with the current state of affairs.

I apologize for putting this thread up because I know that there are 2-3 Transfer Portal type threads already up, but would like to make this specific to having some recommendations on how Army West Point can combat this from becoming the norm.

Personally, I believe there should be some financial restitution from those schools that are paying NIL monies to our former players, although I believe that might impact recruiting quality players on the front end because they may feel that other schools won't come after them if they make themselves available for the portal.

Another thought is the payback period that a cadet has to take upon themselves if they leave during their junior year. Well, would it make sense for that to happen if they leave prior to their junior year through the portal and receive NIL money?

Anyway, I would love to hear what others are thinking and proposing.

Condolences to a Member of the Army Football Brotherhood and His Family

Good Evening Army Football Family,

I attended the viewing service for “Qua Qua” (Marquavius) Broughton - younger brother of former Army two-time football Captain and current Infantry 1LT Marquel.

Whenever a family loses someone this young it is extremely difficult. However his mother, Frederica, a GBK podcast multi-time guest and his family are soldiering through with a phenomenal faith and positive attitude.

I was really impressed with their entire family and how they handled a difficult and tragic situation. As Frederica and I discussed. Qua Qua is at peace now and he’s walking with his Savior. Their faith is an example for all of us.

Please keep the entire family in your prayers.

TN Vols QB is a holdout

I don't know if this deserves its own thread but here goes. I have wondered how long it would be until college athletes started to "hold out" for better financial deals. Well, here we go...

It's really hard to be a college football fan in these times. Makes me love Army Football all that much more.
