is their ability to score. Yes, this team is playing all aspects of the game well but throwing up 30, 40 pts every game is what really excites me.
A little history (and age alert). I remember in some lean years that Army just could not score points. So I randomly picked 1982 and 1983. In 22 games here are the points scored:
10, 26, 8, 17, 3, 20, 17, 41 (Columbia),9, 6,7 (1982)
13, 7, 13, 21, 20, 0, 12, 20, 14, 7, 13 (1983)
Not the most compelling football. Enter the wishbone 1n 1984 and Jim Young's rebirth of Army Football.
I guess over the years that tough period has still stuck with me and to see this kind of productive and exciting football now has me as juiced about Army football as I've ever been.
