Even though we lost (again) yesterday--and realizing it's only one game--that was the best prepared Army team I've seen against Navy in several years.

I was starting to have some doubts mid-season (Kent St.) but I think that Jeff Monken may finally be the guy to turn the fortunes of Army football and change the frankly toxic culture that has infected our program for so long.

That said, we still have quite a ways to go. Hopefully, this will be a ride that we all can enjoy.

Looking at GBK's OLB projections, I am smiling already.

The idea of the possible combo of Mendenhall and incoming frosh Kenneth Brinson at our rush DE/OLB spot is an upgrade. Kelly was okay, but we just did not have any on the edge pass pressure.

We are locked in pretty damn good at MLB, and if Brinson and Mendenhall can bring it, and with the corners we have - I like our defensive potential.

As we all know, O-linemen don't get much pub, but this guy is a stud and will be that way for the next 3-years. He was a solid pick up from day one. I can see him coming in at 290 (solid) as a sophomore.

I know it's really hard to actually measure the impact that KB's commitment has on our actual recruiting. But it is great to see that so many recruits (both committed & non committed) are AWARE of what is unfolding with our 2015 class.

As CB Brenndan Johnson stated in the article - "It seems that the culture is being changed at Army."

He is right and I hope he along with so many others decide to become part of what is being built through Coach Monken.
