The Inside Stuff USMAPS Photos!

We have been hit with tons of photos from the current prep school players via Twitter. So, Tuesday morning (8/16), we will give those players a little exposure and post their photos on this thread minus the names.

If you are a follower of Army football recruiting, which most of you are ... you will be able to figure out who is who.

ALL HANDS ON DECK

WE have 15 more days left if I'm not mistaking, I must say this has been a begining season for the books. A year that we will remember for a lifetime.. But one thing I can honestly say about being on here, is when our backs are against the wall we STAND together in support for the most part for this team..... I'm looking forward to seeing our players step up this season, this staff had their hands full walking in as every new coach has that came here... And you guys have heard me be very vocal concerning my dislikes... Now it's time to put it to rest, and get behind this team, staff & school that I have great admiration for... I'm asking that we all get on one accord as the season opening is just around the corner.. A big shout out to GBK for their yearly outstanding reporting, that they give the fans based on our demands. Moving forward I'm hoping to see more members posting, we need you guys to be apart of the GOBLACKKNIGHTS experience too... As for the players & their families, you guys already know... We are more then happy your apart of our TEAM, your the reason we go back and fourth with each other on here every year:):):)Because of our passion for Army football!!!! Stay healthy, stay focused you got this :D:D:D;)

Navy Football

Navy put on pads Monday morning.

"Just the normal stuff you see at this time of the year," Navy coach said."Just the normal stuff you see at this time of the year," he said.Navy held three practices in helmets and shorts last week and some players came away with injuries. There were about eight players wearing red jerseys and not participating in practice on Monday - most of the injuries came from running and cutting at full speed - pulled groins, strained hamstrings, sprained ankles and the like." (sounds about like Army).

"Just the normal stuff you see at this time of the year," Navy said. One of the injured players is freshman quarterback Jonah Llanusa, the starter at the Naval Academy Prep School last season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound product of Choctaw, Oklahoma did not participate in any drills.

"Jarvis Polu, who saw considerable action at defensive end as a freshman, was working at nose guard during Monday's practice. Polu, who entered preseason camp as the starter at left end coming into camp, looks noticeably bigger even though he is listed the same size (6-3, 280) as a year ago. Navy must replace a three-year starter at nose guard with the graduation of standout performer Bernie Sarra. Senior Patrick Forrestal (6-4, 305) entered camp atop the depth chart, but it appears defensive coordinator Dale Pehrson might be considering using Polu there as well. (Army fans will remember Jarvis Polu.) When Polu was playing nose guard, he was flanked by junior Tyler Sayles (6-2, 255) on the left and senior Amos Mason (6-1, 266) on the right."

The Inside Stuff Army-Temple is right around the corner!

As we all know, the 2016 Army football season is just around the corner and the Black Knights are now down to fine-tuning their mechanics, as well as qualifying their two-deep on both offense and defense.

Starting early next week, we will begin to discuss in detail the personnel on both sides of the ball as the team prepares for their season opener on September 2nd versus Temple University.

But, if the Black Knights-Owls game were to be played today or tomorrow, here’s who we project starting on Army’s 3-4 defense.

Outside Linebackers:
Alex Aukerman (Jr.) and Kenneth Brinson (Soph.)

The Inside Stuff GBK NEWS: Is Bradshaw Leaving Army West Point?

Today, we have been hit with several inquires via email, social media, etc. from several Army Black Knight football fans relative to tweets from other media outlets reporting that junior quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw leaving the academy.

Yes, the Chicago native has had extensive meetings with head coach Jeff Monken over the past couple of days, along with today's sit down with Athletic Director Boo Corrigan and West Point Superintendent Lieutenant General Robert Caslen.

But, the reports that Bradshaw is or has separated himself from the academy are false.

He is remaining at West Point and is doing so as a member of the Black Knights football program.

Army Staff visits to other schools

Reportedly, the Army football staff visited some other schools prior to the start of this years camp. Army’s offensive staff visited FCS The Citadel, Charleston Southern and Wofford, all option teams, in March,to share some thoughts and ideas. Army’s staff also visited Mississippi State, Nebraska and Utah State. Some sports pundits are calling for Army to pass more this year(as they seem to forecast every year). Thoughts?

The Inside Stuff GBK: 2016 Army Football Summer Training Camp Activity Blog

In order for GBK to keep your up to date on the 2016 Army Football Summer Training Camp activity, we are creating this thread.

Our daily coverage will continue with articles and interviews, but sometimes in the context of those articles, which we call NOTABLES, they may be overlooked by you the viewing audience.

As such, I am going to start if off by reaching back in time from the first three practice sessions and hit you up with some of our observations, combined with comments and thoughts from various coaches from the Black Knights’ staff.

Practice No. 1 & 2

OLB [Sam] Alex Aukerman has been doing a great job over that past two days. Also, OLB [Rush] James Nachtigal stood out during Tuesday’s practice.

On offense, the staff has been impressed with Malik McGue at quarterback at the early stages of camp. However, it’s too early to suggest that he is No. 3 behind Bradshaw and Carter.

Sophomore Tyler Campbell has looked good at the Slotback spot.

Practice No. 3

Thus far, team 2015 MVP and senior Edgar Poe, as well as Jeff Ejekam (Jr.), Christian Poe (Soph.) are doing really well at wide receiver.

Here’s a name that has not been on the fan radar, but Shafer Swann (Soph.), who is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Lynn Swann has showed some flashes the last couple of days. Freshmen Glenn Coates and former Rivals 3-star Kjetile Cline also have looked good and wide receiver coach Keith Gaither stated that “they will be good players for us in the future.”

GBK Recruiting Update: Top Tier CB Josh Turner makes his decision!

Although cornerback is one of the positions that the Black Knights' coaching staff has done well at receiving commitments from for the 2017 recruiting class ... having Josh Turner commitment elsewhere is a slight step back.

Despite his Power 5 offers, Army was deep into it to the end and it was a tough decision for Turner, who as you can see is now an Iowa Hawkeye.
