Throw Back Thursday, 3/26/20

I enjoyed reading GBK's piece on Hopkins and the incoming Ellison recruits. But, I was struck with the number of players mentioned who never played a down, or at least, very few downs.

With all sports around the world (it seems) not happening because of the virus, at least football is all the "breaking news" in the sporting world. So, for CFB and NFL fans, every day has some interesting news.

All ya'all take good care now, and I think we'll kick it off on September 4th against Bucknell.

The Inside Stuff GBK Reflection: What are your top Army Football & USMA moments?

For many on this GBK site, Army Football and the United States Military Academy at West Point are both special and unique. With that comes tons of special moments that result in special memories.

Yesterday, I saw this graphic and decided to post it on my Facebook page, because in essence and via our daily lives, we often forget how special our yesterdays were and how valuable our todays and tomorrows can be.

So, as we all maneuver through this coronavirus pandemic which is affecting all platforms of American society and our everyday way of living.

Hence, I would like any of us who like to participate in this moment of reflection of what Army football and/or the USMA has meant to us.

You can do that by sharing via a comment and/or photo of 1 or 2 special moments that you cherish when it comes Army Black Knights’ football and the academy. I am sure most of us have more than one, so don’t feel limited.

Yes, I have more than one to say the least, but I will get the ball rolling with at least two via photos and associated caption.

The Inside Stuff GBK Update: Coronavirus & USMA

As we all know, there isn't any person or institution that it exempt from the evolving COVID-19 scenario.

Yesterday, The Office of the Superintendent of the United States Military Academy (Darryl A. Williams - Lieutenant General, U.S. Army) issued a message to the West Point "Teammates" and here are some of the notables:

The entire team - USMA staff and faculty, Garrison, Keller Hospital and several mutual aid partners have been working non-stop to protect the entire community, to continue the mission as effectively as possible and to plan a safe return of the Corps of Cadets.

Many have asked about when the Corps of Cadets will return to West Point. After a deliberate planning process, across the USMA enterprise, the Supe has decided that the Corps of Cadets will not return to West Point on March 29th as originally planned. Keeping the Corps at home will better ensure thee safety of the Corps, staff, faculty and the West Point community. There is no determination at this time when the Corps will return.

The Corps of Cadets have been reminded that this is not an extension of their spring break and hence the expectation is for them to conduct themselves as future professionals of the United States Army.

No decision has been made yet about graduation and commissioning for the Class of 2020, and the leadership of West Point will continue to conduct a thorough planning process to ensure the safe return of the Corps at the right time. Leadership will continue to plan for the commissioning of the Class of 2020 to meet the needs of the Army.

Today's Presser:

45*:“There’s a very low incidence of death. You understand that. The number of deaths is getting to a much smaller number than people originally thought.”

Q: What do you say to Americans who are scared
45*: "I say that you're a terrible reporter, that's what I say."

And why in the world is lying Sean Spicer in the briefing, asking questions?

45* says U.S. senators accused in the insider trading coronavirus scandal are "honorable people."

"He is holding these press conferences because he can’t hold rallies. Public health is not the point. He needs praise like he needs oxygen. His sycophants talk more than experts. Nothing about tests. It’s all about what he wants to hear, not what we need to know."

The Inside Stuff Thank you from GBK!

Just a quick note of gratitude NEW subscribers to GoBlackKnights.com.

We recently reached out to several former players and grads of Army West Point and respectfully {LOL} said to them, "you need to step up their game."

No, not on the football field (those days are in the rearview mirror), but here on GBK. And to be honest with you, they did and continue to do so and we have seen a rapid rise in the number of subscribers, especially annual subs. We are also witnessing a more solid participation on the message boards (especially The 12th Knight), which only enhances what we hope is an enjoyable and insightful time to discuss Army football .... The good, The Bad & The Ugly, but in a respectful manner

P.S. We can not end this post without saying thank you to our “seasoned” subscribers, because you have hung in there with us throughout and we thank you for that and hope that you continue to be part of this Army Football Community ... as well as encourage others to join in.
