The Inside Stuff A Few Army-Tulsa Game Week Notables

THIS WEEK’S COMBO

Army will be wearing its black, white, white uniform combination this week at Tulsa. Army’s record in this combination is highlighted below.

Army (4-0, 3-0) looks to improve to 5-0 on the road this week at Tulsa (2-3, 0-1), which would be its first 5-0 start since 1996.

Last Thursday, Army defeated Temple, 42-14 behind 417 rushing yards, including 152 from QB Bryson Daily, his third consecutive 100-yard performance while adding three rushing touchdowns. Daily has scored three rushing touchdowns in back-to-back weeks.

Daily is T-5th in the country with 8 rushing touchdowns and they are the most TDs in an Army player’s first four games of a season since at least 1980.

Army received three votes in the Coaches Poll and two votes in the AP Poll this week (9/29).

Army played three consecutive Owl mascot opponents in the month of September, defeating all three.

  • 9/7 at Florida Atlantic Owls, W, 24-7
  • 9/21 vs. Rice Owls, W, 37-14

Army’s eight-game winning streak, dating back to last season is tied for the longest active winning streak nationally with Missouri. This is Army’s second longest winning streak under Jeff Monken, winning 10 in a row between the 2018-19 seasons.

Army has totaled 400+ yards of total offense in all four games this season, one of 23 teams in the nation to do so. Since 2020, Army is 15-3 when logging 400+ yards of offense.

(PFF) has Army graded as the highest offense in the country so far this season (96.8). Additionally, Army’s 94.6 overall team grade is 9th best in the country.

Army’s defense ranks sixth in the country in scoring defense, only allowing 10.5 points per game. Army is one of seven schools allowing fewer than 11.0 points per game.
