Former college football coach Senator Tommy Tuberville ( R- AL) said this week he plans to push for a new rule in this year’s Defense Authorization Bill that will allow military academy athletes to pursue professional sports careers upon graduation . The Senator called it "an invaluable recruiting tool for the services" . If he is successful , this will reverse the ruling that was made in 2022 and revert to something akin to the 2019 order to DOD by President Trump that allowed academy grads to go pro as they graduate and then serve their 5 year obligation as their sporting career ends. We all expected this , but it is good news indeed.
