Buffalo (3-5) lost to Central Michigan (5-4) 20-14. Central Michigan scored the first 14 points, but Buffalo answered with a TD pass by Joe Licata at the end of the first half and then tied the game early in the second half on a second TD pass by Licata, but Central Michigan scored a 3d TD midway through the final quarter and failed on the PAT attempt. Passing yardage ws about equal for both teams but Central Michigan had a 110 yards rushing to Buffalos 38.

Stanford (5-3) downed Oregon State (4-3) 38-14. The Cardinal offense had its best outing of the year scoring 2 TDs in both the 1st and 2d quarters to take a 28-7 lead, and added a 5th TD in the 3d quarter before allowing Oregon State its second TD of the game in the final quarter.

Wake Forest (2-6) lost to Boston College (5-3) 17-23. Wake launched a 4th quarter 14 point rally but gave up 6 points to BC in the final quarter, which was enough for BC to hold onto their early 17 point lead.

Yale (5-1) downed Ivy rival Penn (1-5) 43-21. Yale compiled another 600+ yards of total offense led by Morgan Roberts 346 yards passing on 26 completions in 29 attempts and Tyler Varga's 140 yards rushing. Yale jumped out to an early 15-0 lead and never let Penn get back in the ballgame. Yale is currently in third place in the Ivy League behind Harvard and Dartmouth.

Ball State (3-5) knocked off Akron (4-4) 35-21 for their second straight win after snapping their 5 game losing streak with the win against Central Michigan last week. Ball State spotted Akron to an early 15 point lead but scored 29 unanswered points led by a record setting 5 FG performance by Scott Secor.

Rice (4-3) won its fourth consecutive game, downing North Texas (2-6) by a score of 42-21 at home. The Rice defense got one score on a pick six and outscored NTU 27-0 in the second half for the win.

UConn (1-6) stayed with #18 East Carolina (6-1) for three quarters but ECU scored 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to hand UConn its 6th loss of the season 21-31.

Western Kentucky (3-4) beat Old Dominion (3-5) 66-51 in another barn burner at Bowling Green. Brandon Dougherty completed 23 od 26 passes or 371 yards and 5 TDs to lead the Hilltopper offense, and as usual the Hilltopper defense failed to make an appearance as WKU gave up 643 yards of total offense as ODU out gained but failed to outscore the Hilltoppers.

Fordham (6-1) built a 21 point lead and held on to defeat Lehigh (1-6) 48-27 to remain on top in the Patriot League standings with a perfect 3-0 record. Fordham showed its offensive balance with 296 yards rushing and 292 passing, while holding Lehigh to 317 yards of total offense.

Navy (4-4) beat San Jose State (3-4) 31-21, led by the 251 yards rushing and 3 TDs of Keenan Reynolds, who looked fully recovered from an earlier season knee injury. Reynolds carried the ball 39 times for an impressive 6.4 yard average and Noah Copeland added another 70 yards as the Mids accumulated 433 rushing yards. The Navy defense allowed 322 yards passing and 100 yards rushing.
