Buffalo (3-3) lost a seesaw battle to Bowling Green (4-2) 35-36. Buffalo scored first and then traded scores throughout the game, when Bowling Green, trailing 35-30 scored the final TD with 2 minutes left on the clock and missed the 2 point conversion attempt but held on for the home field win. Bowling Green accumulated 508 total yards to Buffalo's 368, but Buffalo won the turnover battle 3-1.
#14 Stanford (3-2) was edged out by #9 Notre Dame (5-0) 17-14 at South Bend. Neither offense was able to move the ball well in the adverse weather conditions at South Bend, but the Cardinal appeared to have the final edge when it scored a go ahead TD with 3 minutes left int the game to lead 14-10, but ND took the ball to the Stanford 23 assisted by a pass interference call, and on 4th and 11, Golson found Koyack for the winning TD with a minute left in the game.
Wake Forest (2-4) was demolished by #1 FSU 43-3. Wake scored first and a stout defense held FSU scoreless in the first quarter, but FSU came awake an scored 43 unanswered points to keep the Deacons winless in the ACC.
Rice (2-3) beat Hawaii (1-4) at home 28-14. The game was tied a 14 all going into the final quarter, but Rice scored 14 unanswered points to seal the victory. Darik Dillard rushed for 141 yards, but Rice finished with only 143 yards rushing as their dual threat quarterback Jackson was held for -26 in the game. Jackson was 10-23-1 passing for 248 yards and 2 TDs.
Kent State (0-5) dropped a close contest to NIU ( 3-2 ) 13-17 at DeKalb. Neither offense could sustain a drive in the first quarter, and NIU missed a 39 yard FG attempt. NIU switched quarterbacks at the start of the second quarter to try to get something going, and after an exchange of 15 yard penalties, NIU got the TD to go ahead 7-0 on the opening drive. Kent responded with a drive that reached the NIU 1 yard line, but had to settle for a FG to give NIU a 7-3 half time lead. NIU took the opening kickoff to the KSU 23, where they settled for a FG to increase their least to 10-3, and after forcing Kent into a 3 and out, NIU drove the field again to open up a 17-3 lead. Kent State kicked another FG to narrow the lead to 17-6 at the end of the third quarter. A pass interference call set up the final TD of the game by Kent State. KSU intercepted an NIU pass, but starting QB Colin Reardon injured a leg and had to leave the game. The backup QB was hammered on his second play and left the game as well, and KSU attempted was unable to move the ball and attempted a desperation 56 yard FG that barely made it to the end zone and NIU ran out the clock. Kent State is 0-5 but has lost some close encounters.
AFA (4-1) beat Navy (2-4) 33-24 in Colorado Springs to draw first blood in the CiC trophy race. Both teams exhibited the chippy behavior that often characterizes this annual contest and penalties and turnovers played a role in the game with Navy called for 5 penalties for 55 yards and AFA getting 6 for 65 yards and AFA winning the turnover battle 2-0. AFA was able to get to Reynolds most of the day and Reynolds was sacked 3 times and dropped for losses on a number of plays. Navy had the edge in rushing with 251 net yards led by their fullbacks Swain (103 yds) and Copeland (80). Reynolds gained 51 but lost 24 for a net of 27. Kale Pearson passed for 112 yards and 3 TDs to lead the AFA offense. Jocobi Owens contributed 78 yards rushing and Pearson was able to gain 61 without an offsetting loss as AFA got 198 yards on the ground. AFA has had some help from its opponents in the last two games but will face stiff competition against Utah State this weekend, while Navy takes on its annual FCS game against VMI this year.
UConn (1-4) had a bye this week and travels to New Orleans to face Tulane on Saturday.
WKU (2-3) lost to UAB (3-2) 39-42 in another barn burner in Bowling Green with little of no defense for either team. WKU had 503 yards of total offense but gave up 591 yards to UAB. Brandon Doughty who averaged 461.5 passing yards per game entering the contest, completed 25 of 37 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns for Western Kentucky. UAB outscored WKU 28-12 in the second half of the game.

The first quarter was scoreless, but Fordham scored 17 points in the 2d quarter before HC got on the scoreboard with a FG.
