Honestly, we should have had a GBK thread like this some time ago, so I apologize for missing the chance to do so. There are many precious lives that pass and of course, the narratives surrounding the life/passing have a life of their own.

I am designating the thread to those who are now departed from this earth and who are associated with Army West Point in some manner. It could range from a graduate of the academy, a former player, a parent of a Black Knights player, an academy administrator, etc.

Our loyal brother George (aka “Golden Greek “ ; aka “El Cid” ) Pappas , former Army Fullback , soldier and leader extraordinaire, reached the end of his earthly toils almost a year ago, 28 October 2021. The brittle thread which bound him to this earth was severed and his liberated spirit winged its way to the unknown world. His dust was returned to the earth as it was before , and his spirit returned to GOD who gave it. What a treasured spirit it is! Well Done George! You are victorious ! Those who you've left behind love and miss you “El Cid” , but we know where you are and how to get there .
