Army Football Another defensive coaching change for the Black Knights

First year defensive coordinator Nate Woody and his defensive staff saw the Black Knights’ ‘D’ finish No. 1 in the nation in Total Defense.

But during this off season, Head Coach Jeff Monken and his DC have witnessed some personnel changes. Just two weeks ago, defensive line coach Tank Wright left the Army program to become Director of Football Strength & Conditioning at Illinois out of the Big Ten. And five days ago it was announced that the Black Knights' program hiring of Cortney Braswell as Wright’s replacement.

Well this weekend it was noted that safety coach Greg Gasparato is in departure mode and taking his talents to Louisville to join the Cardinals program. Needless to say, Gaspartato was valuable member of the success of the 2020 defense.

This is a good time to segue into our upcoming series Looking Forward (2021) - Experience Counts .... this time our attention will be on the defense.

Is Tom Brady really the G.O.A.T.?

I saw this on GBK's Twitter page and the question is a great question.

But first, what is the criteria for deciding whose the goat in any sport, especially football? For example, Wilt Chamberlain was the most dominant and hence best basketball player in his era, but this Philly team could never beat the Boston Celtics, who were the best team lead by Bill Russell. Chamberlain did not win until he went to the Lakers and merged with Jerry West and Eligin Baylor to win an NBA title.

Personally speaking, I think Dan Marino is the best QB of all time, but no one would even have him in the G.O.A.T. conversation.
