No, I haven' lost my mind and am not freaking out after the ND loss. Been following Army for 60 plus years, this team has me as excited as any. Bryson Daily is one of the best leaders, toughest players ever to wear an Army uniform.
But... lately , something seems off offensively.
In the first 7 games this season we were averaging 359 yds rushing per game and scoring 40.4 pts /game. In those games Daily carried 36 % of the rushes. He didn't play in the AF game. In the last 2 games he has carried the ball 69% of the rushing plays and we are averaging 14 pts per game. Small sample considering the 2 games. ND is a force, overmatched us everywhere and wishful thinking had us even competing in this game. But the North Texas game started to set some flashing yellow lights off for me. The over under for that game was 65 pts (the lion's share coming from us). We score 14 pts!?
It seems that as defenses figure us out , Worley calls # 13 for almost every play (7 out of 10). Why ? what isn't working with the B back, the pitches so that the only solution is QB keeper?
We have become one dimensional, a one trick pony. Don't you think given that we don't have a complete offense that opposing defenses will tune in on Daily? Stop Daily ..stop their offense .
Besides, having your star run 75 times in 2 games is playing Russian roulette ? I'd love to see Bryson play v. Tulane and Navy, but law of averages say he will get banged up being used so often.
I'm not a statistician but I believe Worley needs to start using the rest of our TALENTED, GOOD offensive players to get us jump started and keep upcoming teams more challenged in defensing us.
