I was perusing several sports media sites this evening for end-of-week #10 bowl pairing projections and was dismayed to see College Football News and ESPN both projecting North Texas as Army's Armed Forces Bowl opponent. Regardless of the outcome of the game on Nov 18th, I can't see how it would be in the interest of either program to reprise their match-up for a fourth time in two seasons.

CBS Sports and SBNATION are projecting Texas-San Antonio as Army's opponent, and Sports Illustrated is going with Western Kentucky.

SBNATION's Underdog Dynasty blog that covers CUSA and the Sunbelt Conference, as well as Independents, shows that CUSA has 7 bowl tie-ins:
  1. New Orleans Bowl vs Sun Belt Saturday, December 16 (New Orleans, Louisiana)
  2. New Mexico Bowl vs MWC Saturday, December 16 (Albuquerque, New Mexico)
  3. Boca Raton Bowl vs MAC Tuesday, December 19 (Boca Raton, Florida)
  4. St. Petersburg Bowl vs American Thursday, December 21 (St. Petersburg, Florida)
  5. Bahamas Bowl vs MAC Friday, December 22 (Nassau, Bahamas)
  6. Armed Forces Bowl vs Army Saturday, December 23 (Fort Worth, Texas)
  7. Independence Bowl vs ACC/SEC Monday, December 27 (Shreveport, Louisiana)

They indicate that "whoever wins the Conference USA Championship gets first dibs out of the tie-ins then everyone falls in line after. They see "C-USA is on pace to have more than seven bowl eligible teams." [disregard further down the page where they show SBNATION's Armed Forces Bowl projection as being N. Texas. SBNATION updated their projected pairings the next day after Underdog Dynasty posted this article.]
