Joe Iacono’s Based Post Game Comments

@jiacono did a great job in his video last night. I’ll add just a few other quick points:

1) ULM Coach Terry Bowden made two crucial in-game adjustments on offense in the fourth quarter. He changed QBs in ULM’s first possession of Q4. Then he started running hurry up a bit after that. Army made no adjustments on offense that I could detect. So, I think Joe is right in speculating that we lack the personnel we need for this new offense.

2) Army’s defense wears down in the second half of games - especially early in the season. We saw this last year against Coastal Carolina and UTSA. UTSA pioneered running the hurry-up offense in the second half of the OT loss at Michie. Our smarter opponents have copied that tactic ever since that game. I think it works because we have no dominant NT and inside linebacker and substitute often. We have still not replaced the qualities of NT Nolan Cockrill and ILB Arik Smith in the middle.
