Below are the starters by grade in school both offense and defense for the SAs. If you assign 4 points for a senior, 3 points for a junior, 2 points for a sophomore, and 1 point for a freshman, you can get to a numerical weighted average for "age of a team". For example, Army's overall score is 2.9 meaning that the average tenure of starters is just short of a junior.
Army total 2.9/Offense 2.8/Defense 2.9
Navy Total 3.2/Offense 3.5/Defense 2.9
Air Force Total 3.7/Offense 3.4/Defense 4.0
We are on just the cusp of building depth into this program and I think we should be really pleased with the results thus far especially for a pretty young defense which is doing exceedingly well this year. Granted that King and Timpf are the heart and soul of that squad but there is still a lot to build off when they graduate.
Navy's offense is really good and their tenure probably has quite a bit to do with that. AF is downright "old" on both sides of the ball. But, their 2-deep is loaded with juniors so there cupboard is probably not even close to dry.
As jiacono has mentioned several times, 2016 is something of a bonus year given where the team is on building out depth across positions. We need to keep this thing rolling with CONSISTENCY AND COACH CONTINUITY!
