Athlon says - "When evaluating and ranking all 130 coaches, we established a simple criteria: Everything is considered. This is not simply a list of coaches ranked by accomplishment or wins. While those aspects are important, it doesn’t provide a complete picture of how successful coaches are."
Coach Monken in the middle of the pack at 63 - really? Complete picture? How's one of the great success stories in college football while taking on what has to be the most challenging head coach position in the country - how's that for a complete picture. Not to mention what he's done for recruiting. Don't want to take anything away from Saban, Meyer (who I admire), Swinney etc. - but I wonder how long they'd last as head coach at West Point. There's a reason why Solich turn down the job when the program was struggling. I wouldn't trade Coach Monken for any of these guys right now!
BTW Calhoun is number 60 and Niumatalolo at 29. Not taking anything away from their continued success, but I believe they both inherited programs previously running on all four cylinders.
