Just felt the need to post something in regard to Jordan Asberry. Jordan has been a great contributor to Army football. He started a few games as a plebe, and then has been a major factor in the last two seasons. I will never forget his winning OT touchdown run against North Texas in the bowl game on 4th down. Unfortunately for Jordan, he has seen other RBs move into the spotlight. Younger slotbacks like Kell Walker, Fred Cooper, and Artice Hobbs have really become the "go-to" guys. That HAS to be hard on Jordan. I'm sure he is a terrific teammate and supports all those guys. But still... to watch your own opportunities become fewer... that's tough.
So Jordan, here's to you. If you ever read this board, please know that we as Army fans appreciate your contributions to this thing. You have been part of one of the greatest stories in college football and it could not have happened this way without you. I am confident that you will still play a major role this season. I have a feeling that you will win a ballgame for us by making a play late.. maybe a clutch 4th down reception to keep a drive alive. Maybe another TD in overtime. Or maybe just one of your outstanding Asberry blocks that allows your teammate to get into the endzone. Be strong, play your game, and be proud. You are a hell of a football player and you will serve our country with distinction. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do. You make this old grad proud! Beat 'em!
