After climbing out to a 15 point lead, the familiar lovefest with the 3 point shot and some untimely turnovers resulted in a loss to the zoomies. Next game is tomorrow at 2:00pm EST...hope they at least get a 1-1 split to build on.

I was following the game. The 3fest offense will result in a surprise win or two but cost us 4-5 games we are more than capable of winning I believe. Youth is being served and that will results in growing pains. Where is/was Milton Washington ??

Need may be a strong word but getting to 1-1 has significant impact on where is program is today.... this game can be a driver towards a .500 or not .500 season IMO.

Agreed, the jacking up 3s with a 15 point lead wasn't smart basketball...low percentage shots from long range more often than not turn into fast break points the other way. Would have liked to see them attack the rim and put Air Force in foul trouble instead. Same as many times last year. Hopefully, they learn from it and show progress...today they did a little better.

Now they are 1-1...time to build on that. Not sure about Washington...he did show up with 5 min. in the box score in VMI game.

Good win, in that they held on despite giving up a nice lead again. Washington was one of the 3 consistent plebes in the backcourt last year and earned decent minutes, espeically early in the year. Looks like minutes are going to be hard to come by for many this year. Anxious to see the plebes who are starting, they have to be starting for a reason though in first 2 games, no offensive spark noted on the box score.

Minutes are going to be a little lower for everybody this year, I think. Some more than others, but Spiker is substituting very frequently and going deep into his bench. Lots of pressing, so he looks to be trying to keep fresh horses out there at all times. As for starters, last year some positions changed throughout the year, and plebes getting a lot of earned starts...presumably same situation this year. Guess we'll see what Spiker has in mind as the season plays out. There may be reasons other than "offensive spark" that determine how much he is using/starting some of his plebes this year. Frequent substitutions and more distributed minutes also will show up as fewer points per player. Word is that competition throughout practices has been very intense so that probably has dictated who is playing when and for how long. Upside is that they all push each other to make the team better every day. Downside is that with so many on the roster, some are going to watch more than play.

Agree - and that brings with it some good and bad.... especially for players very close in talent level. Has potential to be an interesting year. Patriot League gets even tougher next year with addition of Loyola (Md.) and Boston Univ. Have to win now IMO.
