Denny was a classmate and I attended his funeral; so I know a lot of the people mentioned in the article and a lot of the stories he mentions. Haven't read the book yet, but it's on my bucket list.
One of the guys he mentions in the book, Tim Vogel, came from Annapolist and was an All American lacrosse player who attended USMAPS and then WP, but became a naval aviator and flew 200 missions over Vietnam. Denny Lewis was one of a group of football players who regularly visited Vogel out in Montana after he became ill. I'm sure there are a lot of similar stories, but it's nice to know one or two of them personally.
