Playing 22 starters from the Transfer Portal Coach Deon is living up to his hype as CO leads a 20.5 Vegas favorite TCU 24-21 early 3rd Qtr. If his D can hold up , we have a huge upset in the making . Whatever the case, the Transfer Portal Revolution is in full force and here to stay ....... and we have yet to witness its full impact across FBS football.

When Army scheduled teams like Troy, UTSA, Coastal Carolina, and even ULM, I suppose that the intention was to be playing games Army might be favored to win. But that’s not what we are experiencing lately.

The transfer portal is spreading out the talent in college football and that’s hurting Army. Teams in the PAC-12, ACC, B12, Big Ten and SEC can no longer hoard 3 and 4 star level talent on their benches and depth charts. Those players now move around and start on Sunbelt teams, AAC teams, and other G5 teams we are playing. They even spread around to other P5 teams out from blue bloods like Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan etc…

Army has to get better just to stay competitive and not fall behind the competition. We are also having to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to keep our stadium competitive and generate more revenue.

This 2023 Army Team is far more talented then our 2013 team if you go pound for pound and position by position. But it is just as hard or maybe even harder to win football games today.

And Army followed through with solid seasons in 2019 & 2020.

That was then and here we are coming off of an awesome 2021 season with a 9-4 record with so many stories that embellished this past season. Some were about specific games, while others are about individual accomplishments that span the entire season. They ranged from OT Win over Air Force in the Inaugural Commander’s Classic to the Black Knights’ Armed Forces Bowl win over Missouri to The Multi-Quarterback Strategy and so much more …

This is where the fans gather to discuss the latest on the recruiting trail, coaching moves, player updates, and anything involving Army football.

After reading the Viti interview I am feeling much better about replacing our three departing seniors. Hearing the Viti game plan play by play and game by game gives me confidence that it’s just a matter of experience before the new crew is ready to make big contributions. His mentality fits perfectly into Monken’s hard nosed 15 round fight. Michigan is going to be a huge early test but it’s their second game also and they have a lot of new players to bring up to speed. If Army can stay close for three quarters anything can happen in the 15th round. Great Article - BCSgator

Coaches normally give us mostly "coach speak" and do not provide much specific information on players. Also the press releases from the sports people say things like "The team practiced various drills under sunny skies". This interview was a welcomed exception. Please try to get more of these interviews - especially with the offensive and defensive coordinators. -BigMatt60
