Amazing! I am also reading his bio written by Ron Chernow. You would think as a West Point grad I would have known a lot more about Grant, but as the documentary points out, he is kind of the forgotten American hero. Plus I always had mil art after lunch cow year and I had trouble staying awake when we covered Vicksburg.
Brilliant tactician and strategist; humble; aggressive; civil rights leader; just an impressive overall guy who unfortunately gets painted as a drunk, etc. I also found it funny that even in the 1860s there was fake news. Not a new phenomenon.
