I didn't know where else to put this comment (doesn't fit perfectly anywhere else so I'll put it here). Most of you have likely heard about the Michigan Football sign-stealing scandal. If so, you know that the supposed Master Mind of this thing is a Naval Academy graduate. He supposedly oversaw the in-person scouting of almost all Big Ten opponents. He either went to the games himself or paid others to go. While there the individuals would place themselves opposite the sideline they wanted to watch, and they would record their signals. I was sort of surprised to learn that in-person scouting is a violation of NCAA and Big Ten rules, as is recording an opponents sideline activities (that almost goes without saying since you'd have to be there to record it anyway) . Sign stealing is technically not against the rules I guess. But the method they used to obtain this info was indeed against the rules. Full disclosure... I find the level of arrogance in the Michigan program really over the top. So maybe I am biased when I view this as absolutely 100% "cheating." If a West Point grad was involved in this, I would be embarrassed. Certainly if the Army program supported this type of thing, I would be really disappointed and angry. And I never, never would have crossed that line myself. What say you? Cheating? Or is it more equivalent to "breaking regs?"
