The Inside Stuff Army 2024 Football Roster

As everyone knows, the roster is constantly evolving for a variety of reasons and we will attempt to keep you up to date with any notable changes.

QB Larry Robinson, who entered the transfer portal a couple of months ago is not on the roster currently. However, OL David Hoyt is on the roster and confirmed.

The Inside Stuff USMAPS Chatter?

As many may know, and for obvious reasons, GBK has not allowed for narratives to be posted on players currently calling the USMAPS home.

I am probably even more cautious because of the Transfer Portal climate we are in (although that is a whole other subject).

Most of you know that the players at USMAPS are treated like high school seniors. Hence, the NCAA restrictions are the same. That's why the Army coaching staff and administration can not talk about those going into USMAPS much. They can give official visits to candidates going into USMAPS and give them another visit after they start USMAPS. They can comment on a USMAPS student's commitment to the same rules as when they talk about a senior in high school.

Coaches can only comment on social media only after a candidate formally commits (signs NLE). However, via our sources, it doesn't say when social media can comment.

Finally, we want to be respectful of the Black Knights’ coaching staff relative to ensuring that GBK is not causing any negative recruiting impact based on the prep players. However, we also want to be sensitive to our subscribers here on GBK, because you are here to get the latest and that is one of the things that we pride ourselves on.

That being said, we are going to take baby steps out of the box. Meaning, we ask subscribers here not to bring up any specific name of USMAPS players. However, if you have general questions, please feel free to ask and if we deem it appropriate to answer, we will.

Finally, I will post from time to time, specific players and how we see them as players. One of the prerequisites to that is that we are confident that named players are 100% locked into West Point and the Army football program.

I appreciate your patience and let’s see how Stage #1 works out for the message board.

As always, Gordon did his extensive internet research and networking on all the assistant coaches from 2015-2023 (2014 list not available) and came up with the following data on recent positions held by coaches who have worked under Head Coach Jeff Monken. Although none of them have become head coaches at DI schools … yet, it is a solid testimony to the caliber of coaches that developed and worked under Monken.

Perhaps the following GBK tweet/article speaks to how significant quality coaches are to this program, when getting a 3-Star prospect, let alone a 4 or 5-Star player is not the norm … hence player development (aka quality coaching) is significant.

The Inside Stuff GBK National Signing Day (2/7) Thread

Some will say that the traditional National Signing Day luster has worn off over the past few years thanks to the Early Signing Period.

However, for the Army Black Knights, the size of the recruiting class typically is 2-3 times larger than most other schools, with the exception of the other two academies.

Even with that being said, there are several prospects that haven’t made their college decision, while others are deciding to switch from their initial college pledge.

So come Wednesday (2/7), expect some drama, hat ceremonies, photos, and even videos for the “late” signing day.





Of course, GoBlackKnights.com will be in center of the action throughout the day.
