BYU to play Coastal Carolina this Weekend

I realize that with the Navy, Air Force, and bowl game approaching, all discussion of the pandemic rescheduling shuffle is pretty much academic for us at this point.

It is interesting to note, however, how rapidly BYU was able to determine that they could replace Liberty as Coastal Carolina's opponent this weekend.

BYU had both last weekend and this weekend open, so to me this indicates that BYU never seriously considered rescheduling the game with Army, once it was called off in September.

Or perhaps it was the other way around? Maybe Monken and Budde, considered it, and felt that adding BYU would distract from prep for the Navy game.

Parallel Universe

Earlier this season, a Michigan State fan was bummed out when the Big Ten cancelled their season, and started posting weekly results for his Spartans had they played the regular season without Covid. He also included results of the rest of the Big Ten, other Power Five conferences, and added, without much thought, results for the Group of Five and Independents.

So given the ups and downs of the Covid 2020, another Army bye weekend, my cable company blocking the local CBS station so I cannot even watch games there; and awaiting Navy getting beat up by Tulsa - let's see what might have happened in Army's originial schedule.

Navy News

It has been announced that Navy’s game with South Florida this weekend has been cancelled due to COVID problems with the Bulls.

This is the third straight game cancelled for USNA, the prior two (Tulsa and Memphis) due to Middie COVID issues.

The next scheduled game for Navy is at West Point on December 12th.

Rumors are that the American Conference will schedule Navy to play Memphis on November 28th and Tulsa on December 5th, with the Midshipmen losing their bye weeks before the Army game.

Stay tuned.
